Nils Gutacker is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Economics, University of York. He holds a PhD in Economics and a MSc in Health Economics, both from the University of York, and a BSc in Health Care Management from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
Nils’ research focuses on issues of equity and efficiency in the provision of healthcare services. He is particularly interested in the use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to measure and incentivise the performance of healthcare providers, and more broadly the relationship between cost and quality of care. His research exploits large linked administrative databases using appropriate econometric techniques.
